History

Founded in 2004, Green Valley Cyclists is based in Henderson, NV, a vibrant community within the Las Vegas metropolitan area. We are a welcoming club for those who share our love for cycling on both open roads and scenic trails. We believe in fostering a broad cycling community and are happy to have members who also ride with other local clubs.

Our foundation rests on three core principles: safety, support, and friendliness. We strive to make every event fun and exciting while upholding this commitment. It is this dedication that has established Green Valley Cyclists as a premier cycling club in Southern Nevada. Our active membership is the key to our success, with dozens of volunteers scheduling a variety of rides almost every day of the week, all year long. We offer a diverse schedule of events catering to different skill levels, and while the monthly calendar is typically set in advance, spontaneous "pop-up" rides keep things fresh and flexible.

The club’s journey began with a small group of enthusiasts and has evolved significantly over the years. A huge part of this evolution was the creation of our first website in 2015 by the resourceful and generous member, Paul Rachal. He created and maintained this homegrown website at his own expense for over a decade, providing a crucial touchpoint for our club. We are eternally grateful for his invaluable contributions.

Beyond the saddle, we enjoy a busy social calendar. Highlights include our annual Summer Picnic, a Winter Celebration Dinner, and monthly breakfast rides. Our members also have the freedom to organize additional social events, from Big Game watch parties to birthday gatherings. As we continue to grow and expand our goals, this new website will help us better serve our community and provide dedicated support to our growing list of club sponsors.
