How do I join Green Valley Cyclists?
You can join online through our Join page. The sign-up process only takes a few minutes.
What are the benefits of becoming a GVC member?
Membership includes access to all weekly rides, club events, route resources, member forums, and community activities.
How much does membership cost?
Membership is $45 per year ($70 for family) and includes full access to all official GVC rides and member-only features.
Can I try a ride before joining?
Yes. Visitors are welcome to join any ride before becoming members. Check the Club Calendar for upcoming rides.

Do I need to register for weekly rides?
Yes. Registration helps ride leaders track attendance, plan group sizes, and ensure rider safety.
What pace or difficulty should I expect?
Each ride lists its pace range and difficulty on the GVC Calendar. See the Ride Categories page for details.
Where do the rides start?
Start locations vary but are usually in the Green Valley and Henderson area. Each event page on the GVC Calendar lists the exact meeting point.
Routes

Where can I find GVC routes?
All official club routes are available in the Route Library, including our Signature Rides and Local Favorites. Use the library to find great bike routes in the Las Vegas and Henderson area.
How do I download a route to my Garmin or Wahoo?
All routes are hosted on RideWithGPS. Each route page includes an interactive map with a “Send to Device” option and a direct link to the route on RideWithGPS for GPX/TCX downloads.
Can I submit a new route to the library?
Yes. Members are encouraged to submit new ideas using the Contact Us form. All submissions are reviewed for quality, safety, and overall ride experience.
What are Signature Routes?
Signature Routes highlight the best riding in Southern Nevada—scenic views, great climbs, and memorable experiences. They’re must-ride routes for both locals and visitors.
Ride Etiquette & Safety
Learn the basic expectations for group rides, including communication, signaling, and safe riding practices on the road.
What etiquette should I follow on GVC rides?
We follow standard group-riding etiquette: predictable movements, clear communication, safe spacing, and respect for fellow riders. See our Ride Etiquette page for details.
What hand signals should I know?
Hand signals for slowing, stopping, hazards, and lane changes are used on all rides. Visit the Ride Etiquette page to view the full list.
Are helmets required?
Yes. Helmets are mandatory on every GVC ride. Safety comes first—please wear one on all club rides.
What happens if someone gets a flat or mechanical?
The group typically stops to assist when it’s safe to do so. Riders should always carry basic tools and a spare tube, and there’s almost always someone willing to help out.
Ride Preparation
Make sure you and your bike are ready to roll, with the right equipment, lights, and fitness level for each ride.
What should I bring on a ride?
Bring water, nutrition, a spare tube, multitool, tire levers, pump or CO₂, ID, and lights if needed. Depending on the weather in Las Vegas, consider bringing layers, sunscreen, and extra hydration.
What types of bikes are allowed?
Most GVC rides are designed for road bikes. E-bikes are allowed on select rides—check the ride description for details and pace expectations.
Do I need lights?
Front and rear lights are recommended for all early-morning, dusk, or night rides, and are encouraged any time visibility may be reduced.
How fit do I need to be?
Fitness levels vary by ride. Each weekly ride lists its pace and difficulty to help you choose the right group for your comfort and experience level.

Where can I rent a bike?
Several local bike shops offer rentals.
What should out-of-town riders know?
Las Vegas has unique riding conditions, including heat, wind, and elevation changes. Review the Route Library to find routes that match your comfort level and experience.
